Ice Green

Ice green refers to the beautiful clear glass green that we obtain around the rim of these vessels.

This is obtained by first dipping up to the rim in a green glaze Hugh has developed and the redipping the rim in our clear glaze.

The interaction of other glazes produces the ice green.

Because the interaction causes this section of glaze to become more fluid when fired we get beautiful vertical striations in the ice band.

The green and the ice band clanged in hue and depth depending on the thickness of either of the glazes.
